United States, Algeria sign co-operation agreement on science, technology
US Under-Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky and Algerian Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research Rachid Harraoubia signed a co-operation agreement in the fields of science and technology on Wednesday (18 January) in Algiers. The agreement calls for collaboration between American and Algerian institutions and scientists in the fields of seismology, industrial research, agriculture, energy, space, health, Internet and communication technology, biotechnology, environmental protection and biodiversity, integrated management of water resources, and maritime research. The co-operation will include exchanges of experts, training courses, teaching exchanges, and joint research projects. (El Moudjahid, La Tribune)
