Iraq's Ulema Committee calls for release of missing Moroccan Embassy employees
The Ulema Committee, the leading Sunni religious authority in Iraq, called on Monday (31 October) for the release of two employees of the Moroccan Embassy in Baghdad, who have been missing since 20 October. The committee asked for the release of "our brother Moroccans in the name of Islam and to preserve the holiness of the fasting month of Ramadan. We also urge that they be well treated, as recommended by Islam precepts, and pay tribute to the Moroccan people, who have stood by us during our hardships." (MAP)
