Algeria to participate in Montreal conference on climate change
Canadian diplomat Jacques Bilodeau officially invited Algeria on Sunday (16 October) to the third conference for climate change to be held from 28 November to 9 December in Montreal. Bilodeau headed a delegation to Algiers to discuss implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, with Environment and Regional Planning Minister Cherif Rahmani and other officials.
At a press conference, Bilodeau said, "Algeria is a country which recorded significant progress with regards to control of pollution. The country's experience will be of a considerable contribution to the success of the conference of Montreal". (Infosoir)
