Algeria's Sonatrach and Sonelgaz Excluded From Privatisation Plans
Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia recently announced that the state-owned Sonatrach and Sonelgaz energy giants are not among the 1,200 companies slated for privatisation. The privatisation of Algeria's state-owned industries is moving ahead as the country negotiates to join the WTO. Algerian officials have said they are opening state-controlled industries to reduce dependence on the oil sector and unemployment. (Oil and Gas Journal)

The unfortunate dairy cow of Sonelgaz’s Distribution Management in Béjaïa is officially dead and buried thanks to the valiant men who united for the general interest of the company. The foundations of professionalism have been laid receiving a breath of dynamism in spite of the security situation in Kabylie, which is still wanting! And this is on top of the ten years of delay caused by the former director from 2005 to 2009. Bravo, Mr Bouchareb, the new distribution director, and, not to forget, senior members Mr Amari, Mr Kria, Mr Messaouden… the list of others and the operatios and commercial agents is quite long. Bravo, sirs!
