Gnawa and World Music Festival to Begin in Essaoiura
The eighth Essaouira Gnawa and World Music Festival will take place 23-26 June. Original fusions will result from the 21 gnawa masters who will perform with foreign jazz, rock and world musicians. Among the international artists in the 2005 programme are Egyptian pianist and composer Fathi Salama, Fremch-Congolese drummer Roger Biwandu, French flautist Magik Malik, and Armenian percussionist Arto Tunçboyaciyan.
