Popular Moroccan Musician Fatna Bent Al Houcine Dies at age 70
Popular Moroccan musician Fatna Bent Al Houcine died Wednesday (6 April) at the age of 70 following a sudden stroke, said Moroccan national television channel TVM. During her career, Bent Al Houcine released more than 100 songs and attracted many fans of Al-Aïta music. Musicologists say she represents, along with Si Jelloul and Essaheb Belmaati, a real school of Al Aïta art. (Morocco Times)

May God rest her soul and guide others like her who wasted their young and old age in dancing, singing and belly dance. They haven’t brought us anything except destroying our minds!

To حياة and Safae- I read through all of these comments, and every single one of them is positive… except yours! Are you truly ignorant enough to believe that a god will punish people for dancing or for singing or for enjoying the dancing and singing of others? Allow me to ask you, how many years have we, the people of the Maghreb, suffered from our corrupt leaders? This may seem like a different subject, but I will explain how it is connected to this. We have suffered and we continue to suffer, and a god has done nothing to change this situation. If a god truly cares about immorality, either this god is so lethargic that he does nothing to enforce this morality or the morality of this god is so arbitrary that it is not worthy of the name “morality”. I am sorry, but we Homo sapiens are one species in a very small group of animals that recognises and appreciates music. Humans recognise and appreciate music and dance and some cockatoos recognise and appreciate music and dance, and I believe that is all the species that scientists have identified as music and dansce-lovers at this time. Why would a god give us the capacity to make and enjoy music and then call it a sin to do so? This is arbitrary and mean – not at all like the loving god that many people want to believe in. More than likely, at the time this idea of dancing and music entered the religion, the man who wrote the scripture was jealous that other men might see the woman he liked dancing or hear her singing. Moreover, it amazes me that you, Safae, could turn this into an anti-Semitic comment. How does your god feel about racism?

Leave this to the Jews. Please, the Muslims should not do this.

From God we are and to God we shall return! Every soul will die. She spent her life in entertainment and dancing. I don’t think she will find something to meet her Lord. May God curse her to the Day of Judgment!

Hi! Excuse me, I want to reply to that lkidar who said she will find her songs in the afterlife. He forgot she is just an artist. In his house there are things you know, and he is criticizing the best artist in our country. May God have mercy on her and on us. She is our legend. From God we are and to God we shall return. My greetings.

Fatna Bent Lahoucine is a pyramid of the popular song. She formed a nice duo in Al Ita, some of its stars are Si Jelloul and Saleh Semali, with the artist Satsa. I knew Fatna and spent some days with her. I still remember some meetings with her in which she talked to me about her life, some of her secrets and pictures. I love you.
