Saadane names Algeria squad for Egypt clash

2009-11-03

Algeria national coach Rabah Saadane on Monday (November 2nd) called 24 players for the November 14th African/World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Cairo. Lorient's Yazid Mansouri is back on the Greens' roster, while Karim Ziani and Madjid Bougherra got the call despite their uncertain status. ES Setif defender Abdelkader Laifaoui is on the list to potentially fill in for the injured Bouguerra. As for Ziani, he told Al Hedddaf that he is eager to play. "I'll continue to go through rehab until I am given the green light. It's a question of a few days," Ziani said. Saadane also called MC Alger keeper Mohamed Amine Zemmamouche on reserve, in case Nassim Ousserir is still benched by his recent injury.

In related news Monday, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced that Les Fennecs will attend a training session in Italy November 8th-12th to prepare for the Cairo qualifier.
