2009-06-25
Algerian officials began accepting construction bids on Wednesday (June 24th) for the new omnisports complex in Tizi-Ouzou, El Moudjahid reported. JS Kabylie president Mohand Cherif Hannachi, who has long lobbied for a new stadium, attended the ceremony. The new sports complex in Boukhalfa, west of Tizi-Ouzou, will include a 50,000-seat football stadium and an athletics stadium with 6,500 seats. According to Le Buteur, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will lay the first stone for the sports complex during his next visit to Tizi-Ouzou.
