Algeria may play Zambia on "neutral ground"
2009-06-11
Algeria and Zambia may play their June 20th African/World Cup combined qualifier in a third country, APS reported on Wednesday (June 10th). Since Konkola stadium in Chililabombwe does not comply with FIFA requirements, if Zambia does not take the necessary measures within the next eight days, the country will lose its hosting rights and the match will be played on neutral ground, the Zambian Football Federation chief said. Last month Algeria coach Rabah Saadane warned FIFA about the facility. "It's even worse than the worst pitch in Algeria," Le Buteur quoted Saadane as saying.
