FIFA endorses Algerian plan
2009-06-04
FIFA on Wednesday (June 3rd) adopted a proposal by the Algerian Football Association (FAF) to abolish the age limit for players who wish to join another country's national football team, Reuters reported. Until now, dual-nationals who had played for a country's junior team could only join another country's national team before age 21. The measure drew support from many African nations, which will now be able to attract footballers who already played on European junior squads.
