Algeria foresees handicraft sector boom

Algeria on November 21st will begin work on a new national strategy to support the handicraft sector, including loans and other funding solutions for craftsmen, Echorouk reported on Wednesday (November 4th). According to Mustapha Ben Bada, the Algerian minister of small and middle-sized enterprises, the sector's profit is expected to more than double by 2010. The sector will also employ 1 million craftsmen, compared to the current 363,000.
