Libya expands African telecom portfolio

Libyan investment portfolio LAP Green continues to expand its telecommunications holdings throughout Africa, Libya-Watanona reported on Friday (October 30th). The telecommunications affiliate of the Libyan Arab African Investment Company (LAAICO) already owns Uganda Telecom, Rwandatel and Green Networks in Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Togo. According to Uganda Television managing director Abdulbaset Elazzabi, LAP Green is currently in the process of acquiring more African networks, "We have extended our footprint to five countries in Africa," Uganda's New Vision quoted Elazzabi as saying earlier this week in Kampala.
