Mauritania to create road safety agency

Mauritania plans to create a special body in charge of road safety, PANA quoted a cabinet statement as saying on Friday (October 23rd). A report by the interior and transport ministries showed that road insecurity has become a "a real scourge, translating into an increasing number of human victims, particularly young people". The new government body will also reportedly help in the fight against all forms of illicit trafficking.
