Tunisia tops Africa for internet usage: UN report

Tunisia experienced Africa's greatest increase in internet access during the period 2003-2008, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) announced Thursday (October 23rd). Algeria, Morocco, Egypt and South Africa are other African countries cited on the Information Economy Report's top 5 list. Speaking about the findings at a Tunis press conference on Thursday, UNCTAD IT director Mongi Hamdi noted that 2.8 million Tunisians, (26.8% of the population) use the internet, Babnet reported.

You can't compare Tunisia, a small country that is, moreover, professional, to Algeria, an immense country where technical installation are remote and, more importantly, scattered.
