Libya, Mauritania work to stem locust blight

Libya will send a locust control emergency team to Mauritania to assess the situation on the ground and the technical means available for the eradication of the pest, Mauritanie-web reported on Thursday (October 22nd). Libya and Mauritania plan to launch a large-scale campaign to eradicate the locusts during their breeding season, CEN-SAD Secretary General Mohamed Al-Madani Al-Azhari said, adding that locusts still threaten other Sahel countries.
