Egyptian film wins top honours at Arab Film Festival in Oran

Egyptian director Magdi Ahmed Ali's film "Khaltat Fawzia" won the "Ahaggar d'Or" for best feature film at the 3rd International Arab Film Festival, which wrapped up Thursday (July 30th) in Oran. Algerian actor Hassan Kechache was named best actor for his role of Algerian national hero Mustapha Ben Boulaid in a film by director Ahmed Rachedi. Ilham Chahine won the best actress award for her part in "Fawzia Khaltat". "Le sel de la mer" by Palestinian director Anne Marie Jacir was awarded the special jury award. A total 11 feature films and 15 short-films competed in the event.
