The best prevention against H1N1 flu is to drink a warm glass of anise in the morning after you wake up. This is more effective than Tamiflu, the medicine that the company La Roche developed and is currently in wide use internationally against this flu. One of the principal ingredients of Tamiflu is shikimik acid, which is extracted from the fruit of anise that has been left to ferment for several weeks.

Hi Mustapha It's nice to provide medical advice if you are a doctor. Now this warm glass of anis,,how do you get it ? and can we drink anisette instead?? with water. The synthesis of tamiflu requires shikimic acid. This acid is extracted from the pods of star anise. A 10-step process of complex chemical reactions results in the synthesis of Tamiflu. Some of the steps use potentially explosive azide chemistry therefore handling must be carried out with care and relatively mild conditions must be used. Star anise. Hoffman La Roche Not only is the process extremely long, taking approximately 6-8 months to complete, but 30kg of star anise only produces 1kg of shikimic acid. Hence, in order to be able to produce the quantities of Tamiflu required to fight a bird flu pandemic, either another source of shikimic acid must be found or another synthesis devised; ps i am not an MD or doctor.
