Mauritania talks fail to reach consensus in Dakar

Mauritanian mediation talks in Dakar Monday (June 22nd) failed to break a stalemate over the fate of the junta's ruling council (HCE), local and international press reported. Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio told reporters that participants would meet again on Tuesday to discuss new ideas from international mediators.
