Maghreb bank officials mull unified exchange rate proposal

Maghreb banking officials gathered in Tunis on Thursday (June 18th) to discuss regional financial integration as a way to counter the global financial crisis. Tunisian Central Bank (BCT) Governor Taoufik Baccar, who presided over the forum, called for Maghreb co-ordination in the economic, financial and monetary domains and emphasised the importance of a co-ordinated monetary policy and exchange rate, TAP reported.
