EU Commissioner condemns attack on Algeria gendarmes

European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero Waldner on Thursday (June 18th) strongly condemned the terrorist attack near Bordj Bou Arreridj which claimed the lives of 24 Algerian gendarmes on Wednesday, Ansa reported. "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the victims of this terrible act of terrorism," she said, adding that the European Commission would "continue to strengthen ties with Algeria in several sectors, including the fight against terrorism".
