Some 100 hundred security experts from 53 African countries will begin discussions Wednesday (June 17th) in Algiers on how to develop a continent-wide approach to fighting terrorism, organised crime and drug, human and arms trafficking, local press reported. Why not begin discussions about finding ways for respecting human rights and putting an end to oppressing people? This will give terrorists less arguments for disrupting societies. But then we will have a problem: Dictatorship and corruption cannot flourish in a normal situation where people feel relaxed and at their ease and where the law makes clear what the right of everybody is. If the law guarantees the people's rights there is no need for a dictator. That's all what it is about. Dictators are not ready to jeopardize their privileges and disappear just like that. Therefore they create tensions which will be used as an alibi for imposing the rule of violence instead of the rule of law. Instead of creating jobs they will increase security forces and hold more conferences like the one of Algiers.
