Libya to aid Uganda renewable energy project

The Libyan government will help Kampala turn 2000 tonnes of garbage collected daily into at least 40 megawatts of power, Uganda's Daily Monitor reported on Monday (June 15th). Under a partnership with the Libyan African Investment Portfolio, "garbage littered on the streets and residences will cease being a nuisance as it will be turned into electricity and gas", Kampala Mayor Nasser Sebaggala said.
