Berriane youths face charges for riots

An Algerian court on Saturday (June 13th) arraigned 42 youths on charges stemming from riots last week in the restive Berriane region, El Watan reported. After sectarian clashes between Maliki and Ibadi youth flared up last Tuesday, police officers who intervened were met with stones, pieces of scrap metal and Molotov cocktails. Some 35 policemen were reported injured, 10 with serious burns.
