Terrorists assassinate Malian intelligence officer

Al-Qaeda terrorists assassinated Malian intelligence officer Lieutenant-Colonel Lamana Ould Cheikh at his home in Timbuktu on Thursday (June 11th), Journal Tahalil reported. The officer had reportedly arrested several members of the terrorist organisation that murdered British hostage Edwin Dyer last week. Four men participated in the assassination, said to be the first direct al-Qaeda attack on Malian security forces.
