Senegal, AU resume Mauritania mediation effort

Senegalese Foreign Mnister Cheikh Tijani Gadio and African Union Peace and Security Commissioner Ramtane Lamamra arrived Tuesday evening (May 19th) in Nouakchott to resume mediation talks between Mauritania's political rivals, local press reported. "We have not stopped working for an instant, even from Dakar," Gadio told reporters. The dialogue began last Friday.
