Kadhafi to visit Italy in June
2009-05-14
Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi will pay a two-day state visit to Italy on June 10th-12th, the Italian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday (May 13th). Talks in Rome are expected to focus on bilateral issues and illegal immigration. Earlier this month, Libya for the first time accepted "boat people" picked up by Italian ships. Italian interior minister Roberto Maroni hailed the move as an "historic day" in the fight against illegal immigration.
