Senegal pursues Mauritania mediation initiative

Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade dispatched his foreign minister to Nouakchott on Sunday (April 5th) to continue mediation efforts aimed at resolving the political crisis in Mauritania. This is Sheik Tidiane Gadio's second visit in less than two weeks. He is expected to meet with members of the opposition National Front for the Defence of Democracy (FNDD).
