Algeria expects voter increase for April presidential election

Nearly 2.5 million more voters are registered on the electoral rolls for Algeria's April 9th presidential poll than in 2004, Interior Minister Noureddine Yazid Zerhouni announced at a press conference on Tuesday (March 17th). Zerhouni also updated the tally to more than 20.6 million voters. The presidential campaign season begins Thursday and ends April 7th, two days before Election Day.
