Algerian candidate proposes job-training year, shortened military service term

Algerian National Front (FNA) presidential candidate Moussa Touati proposed on national radio Sunday (March 8th) that Algeria reduce mandatory military service from 18 months to six months; the rest of the time would prepare young people for work. Touati, who vowed to visit 38 provinces during his election campaign, called on Algerians to participate in the elections in order to bring change.
