2009-01-28
A new survey of Algerian expatriates in Europe indicates that 94% do not intend to vote in the April presidential elections, El Khabar reported on Wednesday (January 28th). Some 18,000 Algerians living in France, Britain, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Austria and Ukraine were polled by the Algeria-Europe Circle of Progress and the Hamburg-based Algerian Errihab Association between December 15th and January 15th. The results show a significant drop compared to the 2004 presidential election turnout of 43%.
