Algeria's Ahd 54 party leader announces presidential bid

The leader of Algerian opposition party Ahd 54, Ali Faouizi Rebaine, became the first candidate to officially declare his intention to run for president in the April 2009 elections, APS reported on Tuesday (December 2nd). Rebaine pledged to serve the Algerian people and "rehabilitate the state institutions". His party currently has two representatives in the 389-seat parliament.
