Algerian ruling party to name Bouteflika as presidential candidate

Algeria's ruling FLN party, led by Abdelaziz Belkhadem, decided unilaterally to nominate President Abdelaziz Bouteflika as their presidential candidate in the 2009 elections, El Khabar reported on Wednesday (November 19th). The paper quoted FLN spokesman Said Bouhedja as saying that the decision will be announced officially during the party's National Council meeting later this month.
